Admission Requirements

Note

• All applicants will be required to appear in an entrance test and interview/group discussion held by SZABIST.
• General paper (A Levels) will not be counted.
• Equivalency from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) is mandatory for O & A Levels/High School Diploma/IB Diploma or equivalent.
• Verification of last degree from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) is mandatory for all Masters, MS, & PhD students.
• Equivalency of international degrees from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) is mandatory for all Masters, MS, & PhD students.
• Students waiting for results can also apply (including first year with no supplementary).

For admission in the BBA/BS programs, the candidate must have completed O-Levels (minimum 8 passes) and A-Levels (minimum 3 passes) / 12th Grade/ Intermediate with minimum 50% marks (including first year no supplementary) / equivalent from a recognized institution.

For BS Computer Science, Candidate with mathematical background will be preferred.

BS Biosciences

For admission in the BS Biosciences program, the candidate must have completed O-Levels (minimum 8 passes) and A-Levels (minimum 3 passes) / 12th Grade/ Intermediate with minimum 50% marks (including first year no supplementary) / equivalent across any 2 principal subjects (Biology, Chemistry and Physics).

BE (Mechatronic Engineering)

For admission in the BE Mechatronic program, the candidate must have completed O-Levels (minimum 8 passes) and A-Levels (minimum 3 passes) / 12th Grade/ Intermediate with minimum 60% marks (including first year no supplementary) / equivalent, with a combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with minimum 60% marks.

  • For the purpose of determining merit, the candidate having passed Cambridge High School Certificate Examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at Principal level OR the General Certificate of Education (A Level) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The grades obtained in these examinations will be equated as follows:

  • Candidate with DAE (Mechanical/ Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation and Automation) having at least 60% aggregate marks from an institute recognized by the Government.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks each in Matriculation and in Intermediate /equivalent exams. Please note that no deviation in this regard is allowed.
  • Merit will be determined on the basis of following weightage assigned:
    • Matriculation/O levels or equivalent: 10%
    • Intermediate/A levels or equivalent: 40% and
    • SZABIST Entry test & interview: 50%

LLB
International Program of University of London

To be eligible to register for the LLB, you must normally be at least 17 years of age at the time of registration and have passes in:

  • • either two subjects at GCE A level, and at least three further subjects at GCSE or GCE O level (at not less than grade C)
  • • or three subjects at GCE A level (with one A Level at not less than grade D)
  • • or three subjects at GCE A level, and one further subject at GCSE or GCE O Level (at not less than grade C)
  • • Or two subjects at GCE A Level, and two further subjects at AS Level.
  • • Bachelors degree (in any discipline) awarded by an institution acceptable to the University of London.
  • • A 4 year bachelor degree (in any discipline) awarded by an institution acceptable to University of London may register for LLB degree under the Graduate Entry Route. Students who register via this route are only required to complete 09 courses (instead of 12) for the LLB degree.

Overlapping subjects in O Levels and in A Levels will not be counted

Tests of proficiency in English (provided this has been awarded within the past 3 years).

1. International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE): English as a Second Language passed at grade C or above.

2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) when an overall score of at least 6 is achieved with a minimum of 5.5 in each sub-test.

Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)

For admission in the BBS program, the candidate must have 14 years education with minimum CGPA 2.50 / 55% marks from a university recognized by the HEC.

MBA

For admission in the MBA program, the candidate must have BBA/16 years of business education with minimum CGPA 2.50 / 55% marks from a university recognized by the HEC.

MBA Banking & Finance

For admission in the MBA (B&F) program, the candidate must have 4 years BBA, BS (A&F) / relevant business degree with minimum CGPA of 2.50 from a university recognized by the HEC.

MPM (Masters in Project Management)

For admission in the MPM program, the candidate must have 16 years of education / 4 year professional degree with minimum 2.50 CGPA / 55% marks from a university recognized by the HEC.

Masters in Human Resource Management

The candidate must have 16 years of education with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by the HEC and minimum 2 years relevant work experience is required.

MA Education

For admission in the MA Education program, the candidate must have 14 years of education with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by HEC.

EMBA

For admission in the EMBA program, the candidate must have bachelor with minimum CGPA 2.50 / 50% marks and 4 years managerial work experience.

Master of Advertising

For admission in the MoA program, the candidate must have 16 years of education / 4 years undergraduate degree with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by the HEC.

MPH (Master in Public Health)

For admission to the MPH program, the candidate must have 16 years of education / 4 years of education after H.S.C. (Intermediate) in any field of biological sciences with minimum 50% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by HEC and/or accredited by PMDC.

Applicants with MBBS, BDS, B-Pharm degrees / Masters in Social and allied sciences with minimum 50% marks/CGPA 2.50 are eligible to apply.

Candidates are also required to pass GAT (General) Exam with minimum 50% score.

For admission to the MS programs, the candidate must have 16 years of relevant education with CGPA 2.50/ 55% marks from a university recognized by HEC.

Candidates are also required to pass GAT (General) Exam with minimum 50% score.

MS Media Studies

For admission in the MS Media Studies program, the candidate must have 4 years undergraduate degree / 16 years of equivalent relevant education (Social Sciences, Humanities, or Media) with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by HEC.

Candidates are also required to pass GAT (General) Exam with minimum 50% score.

MS Educational Leadership and Management

For admission in the MS ELM program, the candidate must have 16 years of education and a B.Ed degree with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by HEC.

Candidates are also required to pass GAT (General) Exam with minimum 50% score.

MS Project Management

For admission in the MSPM program, the candidate must have 16 years of education/ 4 years Bachelor degree with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.50 from a university recognized by HEC.

Candidates are also required to pass GAT (General) Exam with minimum 50% score.

MS Bioscience

For admission to the MS Biosciences program, the candidate must have 16 years of education in any field of life/biological sciences with minimum 55% marks/CGPA 2.5 from a university recognized by HEC.

Candidates are also required to pass GAT (General) Exam with minimum 50% score.

PhD

For admission to the PhD programs, the candidate must have 17.5-18 years of relevant education with minimum 60% marks / CGPA 3.00 from a university recognized by HEC.

Passing the Admission Test / Interview with the SZABIST Graduate Committee is mandatory.

Candidates are also required to pass GRE/GAT (Subject) Exam with minimum 60% score.

Admission Test Alternates: applicants may submit a minimum (1100 out of 1600 or 1650 out of 2400 score) of SAT 1 for BBA/BS/BE; 50% score of GMAT for MA Education, MBA, MoA, MPH & MPM.
50% score of GAT General /GRE for MS programs and GAT Subject with 60% score for PhD.
