Dr. Amanat Jalbani, Vice President Academics, earned his PhD in Management Sciences from Edinburgh University, UK. He has an extensive teaching and research experience, and is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Independent Studies and Research (JISR). Currently, he is also the Dean of Management Sciences.
Dr Fouzia Naeem Khan, Dean of Social Sciences and Media Sciences, and the Head of Students' Affairs, earned her PhD in Professional Psychology from Bahria University, Islamabad. She has wide range of teaching and research experience, and has published papers on various issues related to social and management sciences. She is a frequent participant in television programs, which deal with, among others, education and gender issues.
Mr. Mustaghis-ur-Rahman has earned his PhD in Management and has done his post-doctoral research in the discipline of Entrepreneurship at the School of Public Policy (SPP), George Mason University, USA (2009/10).
Dr. Rahman's working experience spans over 17 years. The experiences include working with public, private, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and Universities, as program coordinator/Manager, trainer, teacher, researcher and consultant. Presently, Dr. Rahman is a Professor and MS/PhD Coordinator in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences at SZABIST, Karachi - a private chartered University. He is a McGill University/LUMS certified trainer. He has conducted several training workshops and addressed a number of seminars/conferences internationally on poverty alleviation and social development issues.
Dr. Rahman was nominated for SAARC Award 2004 by the SAARC body for his research work in South Asia in 2004. The award went to Late General Ziaur-ur-Rahman, former President of Bangladesh. He is on the board of couple of social organizations and frequent contributor to Daily Dawn (http://www.dawn.com English Daily) and refereed journals on Public Administration, Human Development and Social Science issues. Dr. Rahman is frequently invited to Pakistani and international TV channels for his comments and analysis as an academician and social scientist on various issues. He has 32 national and international publications to his credit and has chaired international conferences. He is a member of various national and international professional associations. The area of interest of Dr. Rahman is advanced management, social development, poverty alleviation and governance.
Ms. Ayesha Latif Shaikh, Lecturer, belongs to Faculty of Management Sciences at SZABIST. She has a diverse experience in teaching Marketing and Management courses. She has also participated in the first phase of SZABIST's Sustainable Rural Development Project. She has made strong efforts to add applicative value to her teaching through course projects in Marketing. Ms. Ayesha Latif has done her BBA (Hons) and MBA, with majors in Marketing, from IBA Karachi. Her areas of interest in teaching is Marketing Management and in research it is Sustainable Rural Development and Developmental Marketing.
Ms. Sabiha Abid , Assistant Professor, Economics at SZABIST University. She has been honoured by the Service Excellence Award for The Year 2010 in All Pakistan Teachers Convention .She has Considerable Corporate sector experience of Banking . She has taught at Quaid-e-Azam University(QAU) , Ibd , IBA, CBA, BAHRIA(University & college).She has done her M. Phil Economics from QAU.Her research paper on "Exports and Employment" was published in International Journal "Economia Internazionale". Another research paper on "Occupational Distribution of Working Women in Pakistan" funded by Ministry of Women Development through University Grants Commission . One more research paper on "Why Education System in Pakistan has failed to produce scholars to write books on Management, Computer & Science done for one of the unit of Pakistan Navy. She has attended many International Conferences , Worksops and Seminars organized by SID, FES, PIDE , SPELT ,BRITISH COUNCIL , INTEL, UNDP, CRC & CBR, IBP & Bahria University. Her areas of interest are Development Economics , Labour Economics & Econometrics.
Ms. Ambreen Ahmed is a Lecturer and the Acting Editor of SZABIST's newsletter, SZAB'nings. She has done MBA from IBA - Karachi and is currently enrolled in SZABIST's MS (Management Sciences) program. She has written on diverse topics - from information technology to earthquakes to the human brain - in a leading national newspaper's technology and lifestyle magazines. Her areas of interest include Organizational Behavior, Consumer Behavior, and Brand Management. In her leisure time she indulges in creative writing and caring for stray animals.
Mr. Masood Ahmed, Assistant Professor, leads the Sustainable Development Research Center (SDRC) at SZABIST. He has participated in policy formulation of Renewable Energy in Pakistan and also given presentations on Renewable Energy policy, Energy conservation, Energy pricing and Sustainable Development in various conferences. Mr. Masood Ahmed has done his MS in Management Sciences from SZABIST, MBA from IBA Karachi and B.E (Electrical Engineering) from MUET. His areas of interest in research include Renewable Energy, Sustainable Development and Economic Growth.
Dr. Framji Minwalla, Head of Department, Faculty of Media Sciences, was awarded a B.A. (1987) by the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, and an M.F.A. (1991) and a D.F.A. (1999) both by Yale University. His 21-year academic career includes teaching positions at Yale University, Vassar College, Dartmouth College, the George Washington University, New York University, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and Fordham University. His essays and reviews have appeared in Theater Three, Theater, American Theater, Manhattan File, and numerous anthologies, and he is currently working on a book tentatively titled Pedagogy, Performance, Politics: Essays on 20th Century Theater Historiography. Dr. Minwalla's research interests include Film and Theater History; Visual and Cultural Studies; the intersections of politics and performance; and all forms of theory (linguistic, political, cultural, dramatic, post-colonial, visual, filmic, social, and literary).
Dr. Imran Amin, Head of Department - Computing earned his PhD from Loughborough University, UK. He has an extensive teaching and research experience, and is the managing editor of the Journal of Independent Studies and Research - Computing (JISR-C). Currently, he is also the Head Center for renewable energy research.
Dr. Bushra Noman, Associate Professor, obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Karachi in Biotechnology. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship for a Post Doc research at Cornell University in which her field of studies was nanotechnology. Currently she is coordinating the research activities at the SZABIST Stem Cell Research Centre. She is also coordinating the newly launched Biosciences undergraduate program at SZABIST.
Ms. Saima Hussain, Lecturer Management Science, MBA in marketing from Institute of Business Management Karachi. She has more than 3 years of teaching experience to BBA and MBA students, and has also worked as career counselor for overseas education services.
Ms. Shireen Poonawala, Assistant Professor Department of Media Sciences earned her Bachelors in Design from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture followed by a Masters in Design from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She has worked extensively on Independent Design Projects and multiple advertising agencies throughout her career.
Engr. Aneel Ahmed,Lecturer & Researcher in Department of Mechatronic Engineering, M.S in Telecommunication Engineering from NUCES-FAST University Lahore Campus, Pak and B.S in Electronic Engineering from SSUET University Karachi, Pak. Teaching experience of more than 3years.
Mr. Salman Abedin earned his MBA in Marketing from Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. He has worked in various capacities in higher eduction, advertising and marketing. Currently he is serving as Program Manager, Media Sciences Program at SZABIST, Karachi
Dr. Faraz Junejo is Head of Mechatronics Engineering Department. He received his PhD in Mechatronics Engineering from Loughborough University, UK. He is also involved with Centre for Renewable Energy Research (CRER) group at SZABIST, Karachi. He is reviewer of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) publications, and is a life time member of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). Recently, he has been selected as a member of National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) meeting in Mechanical Engineering. His areas of interests include computer/machine vision, digital image & signal processing, artificial intelligence, condition monitoring and renewable energy.
Mr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, PhD, is an Associate Professor, Faculty of Social Sciences atShaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology- SZABIST, Karachi, Pakistan. He served as editor of peer-reviewed international research journal, Journal of Management & Social Sciences- JMSS from 2007 - 2010 and Managing Editor of Asia Journal of Global studies- AJGS, Osaka, Japan. His several research papers have been published in the journals of international repute. He is author of three books. His fields of interest are religious extremism, fundamentalism and civil-military relationship. One of his research paper Pakistani Military Role in Asian Context has been chosen as an Outstanding Author Contribution Award Winner at the Literati Network Awards for Excellence 2010 by the Emerald Publishers, UK.
Graduated in Statistics, earned an M.Sc with first class and stood first in the year 1967, from Karachi University. The same year Joined the Economics department of Karachi University as Lecturer. Earned an M.A degree in economics in the year 1972 as an external candidate. Obtained an M.A degree, in economics, from Vanderbilt University, USA, in the year 1975 on an scholarship from Ford Foundation. Visited "International Centre for Theoretical Physics" in Triest, Italy on a fellowship from UNESCO for attending two months intensive courses on Mathematical economics and Systems Analysis. Have eight research publications, published in national and international Journals. Have authored three books on Statistics and Mathematics, which has a wide readership nationally. Authored about fifteen contract research reports for national and international Clients, on Agriculture, population and Hajj.
Served the University of Karachi for 36 years in different capacities, as Warden Boys Hostels, as Coordinator Transport Studies, member board of governors in several organizations. Retired in July, 2003 as Professor and Chairman department of economics, Karachi University. Currently serving as fulltime faculty in the Management Science Department, at SZABIST, since January 2009.
Ms. Wajeeha Fatima Javed, Head of Academic Services, holds an MS in Management Sciences from SZABIST, an MBA from IBA, and an Ll.B from Karachi University. She has extensive teaching and academic program management experience, as well as corporate experience. Apart from looking after the affairs of Records, Academics, Examinations, Library and Executive Development Centre, she is the Program Manager of BBA program at SZABIST Karachi. Her area of expertise is Logic and Services Marketing.
Mr. Naveed Dilber received his masters degree in Information and Communication Systems Security from Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. He obtained his Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering from Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Pakistan. He was working as a Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Computing. Currently he is abroad on study leave for his post graduate studies.

Ms.Sabeen Ahsan has earned her degree in English Literature from University of Karachi. She is not only associated with teaching(more than eight years),but also conducts workshops and trainings for professionals.
Mr. Amir Bashir is Assistant Professor in Management Sciences department and an MBA in Finance from IBA, did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from N.E.D.U.E.T. and a CFA Level 1 from CFA institute, USA. He served Energy Sector for 20 years including Hubco (13 years) and KESC (07 years) in Finance and Operation Division. He has been teaching finance for last 13 years.
Mr. Syed Farhan Shakeel, Assistant Professor, earned his Master's in Public Finance from the University of Oklahoma. His areas of interests include Capital Markets, Portfolio Management, Municipal Bond Financing and Islamic Economics. He is currently research adviser for MBA and MS Management Sciences students. In addition to his teaching and research advising role, he is serving as faculty adviser of the SZABIST Debating Society, SZABIST Rotaract Club and Islamic Awareness Society.
Mr. Fahad Zuberi, Lecturer in the Management Sciences Department. Has done his MBA in Marketing from SZABIST .Fahad Zuberi is a certified trainer of Small Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) and Australian Institute of Entrepreneurship (AIE). Currently, he is the faculty advisor for SZABIST Entrepreneurial Society. His areas of interest include Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Management.
Mr. Kumail Raza Hemani is a permanent faculty member and the Student Advisor of SZABIST Karachi Campus. He has completed his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Institute of Business Administration (IBA). His forte includes Business and Oral communication with strong emphasis on confidence building and General management. Mr. Hemani is also a part of the editorial board of SZABIST newsletter.
Ms Tanzila Younas is Lecturer at SZABIST, Mechatronics Engineering Department. Masters in Manufacturing System Engineering & Engineering Management(In progress). Area of teaching is engineering related subjects. Area of interest is Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Management.
Engr. Humera Rafique, Assistant Professor Mechatronics Engineering, SZABIST, Karachi campus, received her Masters degree in Electronic Engineering (Telecommunication) from Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. She has twelve years of teaching experience. Her area of interest is Signal Processing (Pattern Matching) and Robotic controls. She has research publications in the fields of 'Audio signal processing' and 'Robotic controls'.
Ms. Asma Shahid Sethi, Management Science Faculty at SZABIST, has been involved in full load teaching to Management Science and Bioscience Program, with expertise in English Communication and Organizational Management. Initially, she was involved in supervising and managing the Executive Development Center, mainly responsible for training students and career counseling.
Ms. Mehwish Alam, Lecturer Department of Computer Sciences, received her Research Masters Degree in Langauge and Communication Technology from University of Groningen, the Netherlands and University of Nancy 2, France. Currently, she is on leave from SZABIST for the completion of her PhD in the field of Semantic Web from 'Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique', France.
Mr. Sumair Siraj is an Assistant Professor at SZABIST. He completed his MBA in 2005 and his MS in 2008. His areas of teaching and research interest are Economics and Finance.
Ms. Dania, received her M.Sc in Applied Mathematics from University of Karachi. She has a voluminous teaching and research experience. She is currently enrolled in the MS/Phd program of University of Karachi.
Mr Khurram Raza, lecturer in Mathematics at szabist. He completed his master degree (M.SC) in Pure and Applied Mathematics in 1997. He has extensive teaching experience in the field of mathematics at
Undergraduate level for Computing, Business and Finance, and Engineering. His area of teaching and
research interests are Linear Algebra and Differential Equation.
Mr. Asim Riaz is MS in Computing from SZABIST with an overall experience of more than 8 yrs. He is currently an Assistant Professor and Program Manager of BS Computing. His areas of research are parallel computing and virtualization
Ms. Asma Bashir obtained her Bachelor's in the field of Microbiology and later did her Master's in a discipline of Basic Microbiology from Department of Microbiology, University of Karachi. Currently she is working as a Senior Research Officer (SRO) at Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC), SZABIST where her assignment is to develop a complete spectrum of diagnostic procedures needed for running a successful Stem Cell Research Center with her special emphasis to carry out the screening of blood samples against infectious diseases to mark the samples as safe like HIV, Hepatitis B/C etc.
Ms Farah Ashraf completed her Masters in Biotechnology from the Department of Biotechnology, University of Karachi. Due to her absolute precision and skills, she was handpicked as an internee in Stem Cell Research lab in Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular and Drug Research during her academic years. Currently she is working as a Research Officer (RO) at Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC), SZABIST where she has a task to propagate Banana Bunchy Top Virus (BBTV) free plantlets by using plant tissue culture.
Ms Saima Ilyas did her Masters in Genetics from Department of Genetics, University of Karachi. Previously she was working as a research officer at Dr. Panjwani Centre for Molecular Research on a Neuroscience project. Currently she is serving as a Research Officer at Sustainable Development Research Centre (SDRC), SZABIST.
Mr. Zaki Rashidi is serving with Shaeed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) in the Department of Management Sciences as program Manager MBA. He has an MS degree in Management Science from SZABIST and post graduate diploma in e-Tutoring for lifelong learning from University of Hull, UK. Currently he is pursuing his doctorate from SZABIST. His corporate, academic and research experience spans over more than 20 years. He also served as the Coordinator of Professional Development Centre. He is a regular resource person with the HEC Teacher Education programmes. He served as consultant and program head to US-AID EDLINKS project. As an academician and administrator he has shared his expertise and experiences through international conferences, workshops and guest speaker sessions at different platforms. His areas of interest in research are qualitative and quantitative research designs, strategic management, and organizational behavior and development.
Mr. Manzoor Ali Isran joined SZABIST in 2008 as senior faculty member, Social Science. He is teaching to undergraduate and graduate students. The areas of interest are Development Studies, International Relations and International Political Economy, Democracy and Democratization and Globalization.
Mr. Isran did masters in International Relations from Sindh University, Jamshoro and masters in Development Studies from the University of Manchester 2000.
In addition to that, he writes articles for newspapers such as Dawn and The News on the subjects like economics, politics and education.
Mr. Adeel Ahmed is Lecturer at SZABIST. He received his master's degree in Computer Engineering from University of Florida in 2009 and bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Information Technology from NED UET Karachi in 2005. His areas of teaching and research interests include databases, software engineering and programming.
Ms. Shehla Najib is an Assistant Professor at SZABIST and is currently heading the Executive MBA program and BABS program at SZABIST. She holds a MBA degree with majors in Finance and MS in Management Sciences. Her area of expertise are Personal Management and Business and Electronic Communication. She has strong work ethics and is an expert in instigating appropriate mannerism in a working environment. Her satisfaction comes from seeing students develop from their initial immature naive self to well groomed, ready to combat the world types. She believes a good part of the education is informal. The involvement with students extends well beyond the classroom. By understanding their worries, their concerns and what they read makes her a better teacher. She is a great believer of living life fully.
Ms. Samina did her BA (Hons) from the University of Karachi in 2002 and MA in Mass
Communication from the same in 2003. Her area of expertise lies in print
journalism/writing/publishing and in this regard, She has also worked at a
publishing house (Oxford University Press) and two of the largest media
houses of Pakistan, Dawn Media Group and Jang Group. She was visiting faculty
at szabist all of 2010 and have been working full-time since Dec 20, 2010.
Here at Szabist, she has been teaching writing, literature, communication and
media-related courses.
Dr. Husnain Mansoor Ali received his PhD. from University Paris-Sud 11 in the field of Networks. He worked at AXIS Research group at IEF (Institute of Fundamental Electronics) on scholarship to complete his PhD. He received his Masters from Supelec and University Paris-Sud 11 in "Networks and Telecommunications" and B.E. degree in "Computer Systems and Information Technology" from NED University of Engineering and Technology. His main research interests include routing protocols and performance improvements in ad-hoc and mesh networks. Currently, he is the Program Manager for MS Computing.
Dr. Saqib Rizavi is an economist by profession. He obtained his Masters degree from the University of Punjab, and then received a Masters in Development Economics from Vanderbilt University, USA, and a PhD in Economics from Northeastern University, USA.
He brings to SZABIST a broad professional experience having worked in the Planning Commission of the Government of Pakistan, a private sector financial institution, International Monetary Fund, and a very prestigious consultant firm in USA.
His professional career gave him an opportunity to work on a variety of macroeconomic and development issues in Africa, Middle East, South America, and the Caribbean.
Mr. Ahmed Ansari, earned his degree of Bachlors in Design from Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture in year 2008. His focus is on Graphic desiging, Typography and Adversiting. Currently, he is on study leave for pursuing his Masters in Design from US on a Fullbright scholarship.
Mr. Shehram Mukhtar is serving with Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) in the Department of Media Sciences as a MS Program Manager. He has an MS degree in Television from Boston University and Masters of Business Administration from IBA. His main concentration is in TV Production. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD degree from US.
Mr. Najaf Bilgrami has a Masters Degree from the London Film School with a major in cinematography. He is an actor, director and cinematographer who has worked on many awarded films including a Pakistani horror film - Zibah Khana, "Wagah" which was nominted and won many international awards as co-director. Najaf has been associated with the Media Sciences Program at SZABIST since 2008, and teaches Lighting and Direction to Film and TV students. Najaf is also one of the supervisors in the final year thesis project undertaken by Media Science Students.
Mr. Babar Shaikh has a Bachelors Degree from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, and is a practising Film-maker. He has produced many Televion Commercials, Music Videos and Corporate Films. Babar teaches Direction and Production courses in the Media Sciences Program, and is also one of the supervisors in the final year thesis project undertaken by Media Science Students.
Dr. Nadir Ali Kolachi is an International Trainer & Consultant in Management domains. He has more than sixteen (16) years of Training, Teaching and Research experience at National & International levels. He has earned his Doctorate Degree in Management. He has also done MAS, MBA & MS in Management Sciences including various research diplomas from USA and Europe. He is associated with reputable Business Schools & Corporations. He is working with SZABIST as Associate Professor. He is also a Chief Consultant & Corporate Trainer for GAMMP International (Global Association of Management & Marketing Professionals). Dr. Kolachi has represented Pakistan and GAMMP International in many Research, Training & Consultation programs at USA, UK, SPAIN, ITALY, POLAND, BRAZIL, INDIA, PAKISTAN and many other countries. He is also an Editor of reputable International Journal - GMJACS (Global Management Journal for Academic & Corporate Studies).
